Firebirds' Season Ended With Loss to Bourne
Behind a spectacular start from Seth Maness (East Carolina), the Bourne Braves got one run in the third inning and added seven more in the last four frames to defeat the Orleans Firebirds 8-0 Sunday night and move on to the Cape Cod League championship series. (More)
Reyes Gem Spoiled by Bourne's Three-Run Ninth
Jorge Reyes (Oregon St.) had retired 18 straight batters when he came out to pitch the ninth inning, but neither he nor the Firebirds' bullpen could close out the deal, as Bourne stunned Orleans with three runs in the ninth to steal a 3-2 win in Game 1 of the second round playoff series. (More)
